- This version has only 8 brass, and the woodwind doubles have optional saxophone parts included. The lead trumpet range is slightly lower as well.

Instrumentation:
- 8 brass (4 trumpet/flugelhorn, 3 tenor trombone, 1 bass trombone)
- 5 saxophones (2 alto, 2 tenor, 1 baritone). Or optional woodwind doubles (soprano sax, clarinet, flute, tenor sax, bass clarinet/baritone sax)
- Rhythm section (guitar, piano, electric bass, drum set)
- Optional violin
